 Well, if you're anything like me, you're totally into the meaning of things and always asking lots of questions. So, if you've listened to the song, you may want to know what the song CLOSER is all about? CLOSER is all about that moment. That moment when you feel like you've tried everything. You've done everything. You're tired. Maybe afraid. Maybe angry or resentful. Maybe just numb. That's a critically important moment. That's actually a beautiful moment because that determines when you come ALIVE. I honestly don't remember exactly what was happening at the time that I wrote the song. I often don't remember. What I always do remember is that moment. I'm always alive to that feeling. The feeling I felt when writing it was an overwhelming feeling somewhere between despair and determination. Sometimes you might cross the finish line crying and feeling overwhelmed or afraid and that's ok. Just cross the finish line. Keep pursuing what you're doing. Keep your eye on the prize. That's what CLOSER is all about. Feel yourself come alive to your dream. It's coming CLOSER. The words of the song say, 'Feel your heart on fire. Feel it come to life'. That describes that moment when you get your second wind and you actually say to yourself, 'I'm not giving up. I'm going to dig in and finish'. I have had so many moments when I wanted to give up. I wanted to give up when my daddy died. I wanted to give up when my mom started losing her mind. I wanted to give up when people told me I wasn't a great singer. I wanted to give up when I was told I wasn't qualified. Too young. To old. Too all over the place. Too everything! I wanted to give up when I felt insignificant, unimportant, shy and afraid. Sometimes you have to change things. You have to set things in motion. You have to get the juices flowing again. Things get stagnant and you need a change. Make it happen. Go somewhere new. Reach out to someone. Try new things. Just know that your time is coming CLOSER. Your moment is right there. It's tangible, just not visible yet. It's real, just not physically speaking yet. Your faith and your determination will make things happen. You will meet the right people. You will walk into the right opportunities. You will come into your greatness. Feel it come alive. Feel it through the fire. Can you feel it? Your time is coming CLOSER.
